Hello, New Haven! Welcome to the New Haven Courier.
We’re a small hometown squad of people who believe in bringing hometown news back into the hands of the community. The Courier is brand new, and it is built for one city: yours.
New Haven is a city of neighborhoods, and every one of them has a personality. Wooster Square and East Rock. Westville and Fair Haven. The Annex, Morris Cove, Dixwell and the Hill. There are bakers up before dawn, kids’ teams chasing championships, neighbors fixing up a park and shop owners who know your order by heart. Those are the stories we want to tell.
What you will find here
- Neighborhood news. Board of Alders votes, schools, parks, development and the decisions that land on your street, explained in plain English.
- Small businesses. The cafés, pastry shops, corner stores and family businesses that give New Haven its flavor.
- Events. Festivals, concerts, block parties and the best things to do this weekend.
- Your neighbors. The people doing cool things in your corner of the city.
We are part of the Courier family of sites covering the four Havens: New Haven, West Haven, East Haven and North Haven. Our towns share borders, roads and families, so our news does too.
We stick to facts we can check, we link to our sources, and when we get something wrong, we will fix it and say so.
